Kakadu National Park

Shannon Architects have prepared a Facilities Manual for the World Heritage Listed Kakadu National Park.

This manual includes concepts for a suite of infrastructure ranging from visitor shelters to furniture and fencing.  The infrastructure will be installed across the 19,800 square kilometres of the Park and must cater for unique environmental impacts such as regular bushfire and inundation.  Installation is occurring progressively.

Planning studies have commenced for the redevelopment of the Mary River Precinct, Gunlom Falls and the Jim Jim Falls sites.

All proposals have required consultation with traditional owners.
