Northern Adelaide Senior College

The Northern Adelaide Senior College provides a unique education program for students over the age of sixteen.  The college relocated to a site adjacent to the City of Playford’s Northern Sound System music centre.  College and Council recognised the benefits of the collocation of their music programs within the community facility.

Shannon Architects had previously provided services for the unique design of the Northern Sound System within the former basketball stadium.

The provision of new facilities for the College included the additional challenge of working at the second level and incorporating the stadiums tiered seating.

The unique fitout creates a diverse range of teaching spaces for music, art and technology in the existing floor area and small additions.  Access is through the existing “alleyscape” of the Northern Sound System allowing close integration and shared use of high quality music and performance facilities.
