Australian Arid Lands Botanic Garden

The Australian Arid Lands Botanic Garden is located on the outskirts of Port Augusta, South Australia.

Shannon Architects have provided Architectural and Design services since the commencement of initial site development. A comprehensive revision of the site Masterplan has been completed.

Major elements of the project include three building stages

• Reception Building
• Meeting Room / Herbarium
• Kitchen expansion

Services have also been provided for planning studies and small built elements such as garden amenities and furniture. The result of a consistent design approach is a development that has occurred over time but retains its essential character and ambience.

The site development embraces a strong environmental ethic which includes passive and active technologies.
