Witjira National Park
The Witjira National Park is located in the remote far north of South Australia. The reserve forms part of the Desert Parks district of the Department for Environment and Natural Resources and is co-managed with the Irranayere Aboriginal Corporation. It is a National Heritage site.
Strategic Planning Studies have been prepared in consultation with the co-management board incorporating consideration of Indigenous and European cultural heritage.
Conceptual planning studies for the historic Dalhousie Springs precinct provide a frame work for future improvements and developments.
Concepts for specific sites have allowed immediate improvements to visitor control and access on the fringes of the Simpson Desert and to sites of significance.
